'One to get you out of the seat' - Many Celtic fans discuss 'total waster of a great talent'

A lot of Celtic followers used Saturday as the perfect time to share their reminiscences on former participant Aiden McGeady as the Irishman celebrated his 34th birthday.

The winger is at present plying his commerce in England with Charlton Atheltic after being allowed to go away Sunderland on a short lived deal in the January switch window (BBC).

Having began his profession at Celtic Park, the attacker had spent six years within the first-team before shifting onto Russia and teaming up with Spartak Moscow in 2010.

McGeady performed a fairly influential and telling position for the Bhoys in the time he spent with the senior aspect, having made 197 appearances across all competitions, bagging himself 32 objectives and 48 assists in the process (per TransferMarkt).

While some followers praised the former Republic of Ireland international’s potential, some had admitted they have been disillusioned with what that they had witnessed from the now-34-year-old and had felt he did not attain his full potential, although the views have been usually favourable.
