Dr. Vibe speaks with a Black Canadian thought leader concerning the state of Black masculinity

Dr. Vibe asks David Lewis-Peart about his ideas on the current state of Black masculinity.

Mr. Peart an educator, group employee, advisor, writer, and playwright. David completed graduate research at York University and holds a diploma in Human Providers Counselling (psychological health and addictions) from George Brown School. He has been a member of college in both Baby and Youth Care and Social Service Work diploma packages in Toronto and Oakville and was most lately an teacher with, and one of many Learning Coordinators for, The Niche program; a social service pathway training for Black youth and present practitioners, a joint initiative between CEE Centre for Younger Black Professionals, and Harriet Tubman Group Group, funded via the Metropolis of Toronto. David can also be a lead on the African, Caribbean, Black (ACB) Household Group Conferencing (FGC) challenge via the University of Toronto – funded by the Regulation Basis of Ontario – answerable for designing a culturally applicable, restorative justice intervention for African-Canadian families concerned with the child welfare system. As a author, David is an Obsidian Theatre Company 2018/19 Playwrights Unit fellow, and a recipient of the Christopher Hewitt Award for poetry, Honorable Point out. He's the founder of the queer males of shade arts collective We Different Sons which is presently present process a residency with Buddies in Dangerous Occasions Theatre. David has commonly contributed to publications comparable to CBC Arts, Huffington Publish Canada, and ByBlacks.com.
